stayed at a charming, well-located hotel in Aarhus, with a cute garden and great toiletries. Perfectly situated within walking distance of everything. Truly exceeded expectations.
Room decor lacked coziness and attention to detail.

The location in the centre of Aarhus is brilliant, close to small shops and lots of bars and restaurants. Cosy atmosphere.
The rooms on the top floor and microscopic and need refurbishment. It all looks a bit used. The beds are bad, it says king size but it's two beds pushed together and they tend to move apart. No darkeing curtains so you wake up very early due to sunlight.

Everything - the beautiful room, the helpful staff and the excellent breakfast.
There was quite a bit of street noise during the evening/night but this is probably inevitable in a city centre hotel at a weekend. Ear plugs recommended for light sleepers!

We recently stayed at Guldsmeden and had an amazing experience. The location couldn't be more perfect, allowing us easy access to all the city sights. The hotel's commitment to sustainability and the environment is commendable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, and their fluency in English was a great help. We loved the pretty garden at the back, although we didn't get the chance to enjoy it due to the weather. The reception cafe area, with its complimentary coffee, tea, and biscuits, was a lovely touch. And let's not forget the comfy four-poster bed that made our stay even more special.
Nothing, all excellent! 🌟

Location
The smell at the hotel. Very low standard, not related to the price. But I found it's common in Denmark so I didn't bother it.

The hotel is conveniently located close to restaurants, within walking distance of the train station (around 15min) and close to bus stops. It offers free wifi, and hot drinks in the afternoon in the lobby. The breakfast buffet was nice, they offer several lose tea sorts (not only tea bags), fresh fruits,... The staff was friendly and helpful, bathroom and bed were clean.
The breakfast area is quite small, the bathroom is very small and 'scandinavian' style: you basically use the floor of the bathroom as shower. The daytime curtains in the room were ripped and the carpet in the room had a few stains.

Central and Charming Location, Delicious Breakfast
I recently had a city break in a hotel in Denmark, and I loved the central and charming location of the hotel. The area was very peaceful at night, so I slept well. The breakfast was also one of the highlights of my stay. The food was fresh and delicious, with many different options to choose from. the staff were friendly and welcoming during my stay.
The only downside to my stay was the uncomfortable position of the TV in the room. It was mounted under the ceiling at an angle to the bed, which made it uncomfortable to watch.

Nice but small room, excellent breakfast buffet, wonderful organic shampoo, bodylotion, and body shampoo at the bathroom.
The beds weren't good - kept sliding apart and it seemed that some of the springs in one of the beds was broken as it appeared hollow in the middle.

I had a fantastic stay at this boutique hotel in Aarhus. The location was excellent, right in the very center of the city, surrounded by trendy shops and restaurants. It was the best area to explore and experience the vibrant atmosphere of Aarhus. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met. The rooms were beautifully decorated and had a cozy atmosphere, with attention to detail like chairs placed upside down on the table. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of organic breads and local products. I especially loved the home-baked breads, they were simply delightful.
Everything was perfect, no improvements needed.
